Larry Forst

Larry Forst, age 68, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN.

Larry was born on November 2, 1952, in Huntington, IN, to Noah and Lois (Glick) Forst.  His parents preceded him in death. He married Carol (Thomas) Frantz on January 18, 2003, and she survives and resides in Huntington.

Larry was a 1971 graduate of Huntington North High School.  He retired in 2013 from Good Humor Breyers after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Awakening Community Church in Huntington.  Larry loved dirt track and stock car racing and drove a race car for about 15 years.  He truly loved being the “fun Grandpa” and spending time with his grandchildren.

Along with his wife, Carol, Larry is survived by one son, Ryan (Mindy) Forst, Avon, IN; one daughter, Renee (Ryan) Kessler, Huntington, IN; two step-sons, Sonny Frantz, Fort Wayne, IN, Shannon Frantz, Pierceton, IN; two step-daughters, Sherrie (Andrew) Miller, Pasco, WA, Stacy Frantz, Roann, IN; one brother, David (Martha) Forst, Huntington, IN; and 18 beloved grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with additional calling hours on Saturday, December 19, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.

We are asking that everyone please follow the CDC guidelines and state mandate for social distancing and wearing a mask.

A private family service will follow at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Carrell officiating.

A private burial will be at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
