Kenneth “Ken” Hartman, 82, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022, at Hickory Creek in Huntington.
Mr. Hartman was born on July 26, 1939, in Starkweather, ND, to Bernard and Helen (Froehler) Hartman. His parents preceded him in death. Kenneth married Marilyn Beeching on July 11, 1964, in Huntington, IN. She survives and resides in Huntington, IN.
Ken graduated from St. Mary Academy, Devils Lake, ND, in 1957, and from Cornell University with a business degree. He was the district manager for the Kroger Company. He was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church, he led bible studies and distributed communion to shut-ins and nursing homes. He was a past Treasurer and member of St. Vincent de Paul Society and a member of the Legion of Mary in New Mexico.
Along with his wife he is survived by two sons, John Hartman, Bradenton, FL, Bernard Hartman, Huntington, IN; three daughters, Mary Hartman, Fort Wayne, IN, Nancy Hartman, Indianapolis, IN, Margaret Hartman (Scott Dietrich), Marquette, MI; two brothers, Jerome Hartman, Wichita, KS, James Hartman, Mesa, AZ; and two grandsons, Theodore and Quinton Dietrich.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, William Hartman, Donald Hartman, Gregory Hartman; and one sister, Mary Lindley.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 9:00 a.m.to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., with Father Thomas Zehr officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or St. Vincent de Paul Society in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.
Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
