Kenneth Franklin Wood, Jr.

Kenneth Franklin Wood, Jr., age 76, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at his residence.  

Kenneth was born on November 22, 1947, in Crooksville, OH, to the late Kenneth F. and Katherine L. (O’Neil) Wood, Sr. Kenneth married Bonnie Jean Cox in 1965, and she survives and resides in Huntington.

Kenneth was a truck driver for many years and had worked for Watkins Motor Lines and Fed Ex. After retirement he and Bonnie loved to winter in Texas and he enjoyed fishing in the bay.

Along with his wife, Bonnie, he is survived by one son, Kenneth (Wendy) Wood, Beattyville, KY; one daughter, Michelle (Greg) Sands, Huntington; one brother, Robert Wood, Fort Wayne, IN; two sisters, Esther (Dick) Stotts, Fort Mohave, AZ, Katherine (Greg) Holdsworth, Warsaw, OH; 7 grandchildren, Christine Dolby, Jessica Villalobos, Nicole Enslen, Drew Wood, Kylie Wood, Alexandria Wood, Austin Wood; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Wood; and one brother, John Wood.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.  

A private interment will be held at a later date.

Memorials can be made to Bonnie Wood to help the family with expenses.
