Kay Ellis (Hill) Ambrose

Kay Ellis Hill Ambrose, 85, of Huntington, IN, closed her eyes to the pain of this world on Friday, January 22 2021, at Dupont Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.

Kay was born on June 14, 1935, in Fort Wayne, IN, to the late Paul Hill (Opal) and Edna Lake (Bob) Guinup.  Kay married James William Ambrose, Jr., in October, 1962, and has enjoyed 58 years of marriage.

Kay was a graduate of South Side High School in Fort Wayne, IN.  She was a homemaker and a member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority. She enjoyed bowling and was on a bowling league. Kay also sold Tupperware for many years and was a 4-H Leader.

Kay is survived by her husband, James, three sons, Duane (Jissa) Peck, Hemet, CA, Patrick Ambrose, Huntington, IN, Michael (Cammy) Fox, Churubusco, IN; one daughter, Tracie Wolf, Lafayette, IN; one sister, Debbie (Jeff) Berk, Crown Point, IN; daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Fox Bonahoom, Fort Wayne, IN; and 8 grandchildren.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Jim Fox; and one brother, Kurt Hill.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 2751 N. Rangeline Road, Huntington, IN.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Donor’s Choice in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.
