Judy Kay (Craig) Michel

Judy Michel, age 83, of Huntington, IN, was called home on Thursday, December 11, 2025,  leaving behind a legacy of grace, strength and joy.

Judy was born on March 3, 1942, in Clear Creek Township, Huntington, IN, to William and Kathryn (Saunders) Craig. Judy married John I. Michel on October 28, 1961.  John preceded her in death on November 17, 2010.

Judy graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1960.  She found joy and connection as a member of College Park Church, the YMCA and P.E.O. communities that enriched her life deeply.
  She worked in retail sales at Hallmark and Rustic Hutch over the years. 
She was a devoted Indiana University sports fan, cheering proudly – often at the urging of her husband and grandchildren, whose passion for IU became her own.

She was steady center of her family – radiating kindness, humor and an unwavering resilience.  She taught by example: patience when life grew heavy, gentleness when others needed lifting, and laughter as a light that could brighten even the hardest days. Her greatest joy came from the moments she shared with her grandchildren, whose lives she enriched in quiet and meaningful ways.

Judy’s memory will be carried forward by her children: one son, Joel and Lisa Michel, Fishers, IN; two daughters, Jody Weber, Troy, OH, and Jill and Kevin Jamison, Roanoke, IN.  Her cherished grandchildren: Jordan Weber, Jenna and Alex Huels, Joseph Michel and Jill, Nicholas and Maddy Michel, Matthew Michel and Lucy, Marissa and Ryan Perkins, Katherine Jamison and Cameron.  Her cherished great-grandchildren: Ellie and Penny Huels, and Henry John Michel.

She joins in eternal rest her husband, John Michel, parents, William and Kathryn Craig, her sister Joy King , her brother James Craig, her son Jeffrey Michel and her son-in-law John Weber.

Visitation will be at College Park Church 1945 College Ave, Huntington, IN 46750 Saturday, December 20, from 10:00 am till noon with funeral services to follow at noon with Reverend Matt Hann officiating. Burial will be at Beech Grove Cemetery Huntington, IN.

Her laughter, her spirit, and her boundless warmth will continue to echo through the generations she leaves behind.  The Hearts she shaped will forever carry a part of her. 
There was magic in Grammys touch and sunshine in her smile.
