Juan J. Albizures

Juan J. Albizures, 96, of Huntington, IN, passed away at his residence surrounded by family on Friday, March 11, 2022. 

Juan was born on June 24, 1925, in Guatemala to Bartholomew and Josefa (Garcia) Albizures.  His parents preceded him in death.   Juan married Maria Alvizures and she preceded him in death.  

 He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and worked in Agriculture.

Juan is survived by three sons, Francisco Albizures, Huntington, IN, Ramiro Albizures, Apple Valley, CA, Hector Albizures, Guatemala City; four daughters, Amparo Albizures, Petrona Albizures, both of Huntington, IN, Sarah Albizures, Marina Albizures, both of Grand Junction, CO; and one sister, Maria Albizures, CA. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Mario Alvizures; one brother, Pedro Albizures; and one sister, Christina Albizures.

Calling hours will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750, with recitation of the Rosary in Spanish beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Additional calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with A Mass of Christian Burial in Spanish at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750, with Father Dennis DiBenedetto.

Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
