John B. Sellers

John B. Sellers, 86, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at 8:41 a.m. at his residence.           

Mr. Sellers was born on October 23, 1933, in Huntington, IN, to Reuben Sellers and Loretta (Kastner) Sellers PeGan.  His parents preceded him in death.  Mr. Sellers married Mary M. Hunnicutt on May 14, 1955.   She survives and resides in Huntington.

Mr. Sellers was a 1952 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School.  He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.   He was an Engineer for 43 years for Erie Lackawanna/Conrail Railroad.   He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntington, lifetime member of the VFW #2689, and the American Legion Post #85.  John was a devoted father and family man; he had a generous spirit and loving heart.  He loved watching his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren participate in sports and various activities.

Along with his wife, Mary, he is survived by two sons, Mark (Sybil) Sellers, Apex, NC, Wayne (Sandra) Sellers, Huntington, IN; three daughters, Deborah (Dan) Brock, Huntington, IN, Sheila (William) Allison, Huntington, IN, Judy (Robert) Dudley, Maumee, OH; 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Marie Sellers; three brothers, Tom Sellers, Richard Sellers, Paul Sellers; one sister, Helen Parker; and one grandchild, Tyler Sellers.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.

Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, with Fr. Stephen Colchin presiding.

Burial with Military Rites will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
