John Dean Clabaugh

John Dean Clabaugh, age 64, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne, IN.

Dean was born on March 11, 1961, in Huntington, IN, to John and Mandy (Tackett) Clabaugh.  His father preceded him in death, and his mother survives and resides in Huntington.  Dean married Rebekah Freytag on August 23, 2009, and she survives and resides in Huntington.

Dean was a 1980 graduate of Huntington North High School.  He was an auxiliary member of the American Legion Post 85 in Huntington.  Dean worked in various factory jobs including CSP (now Teijin), and Huntington Sheet Metal. He had also worked maintenance at Motel 6.

Along with his wife and mother he is survived by his children, Timmy, Jessica, Angie; one brother, Terry (Kay) Clabaugh; and three sisters, Connie (Dave) Classon, Huntington, IN, Deb (Phil) Bouillon, Roanoke, IN, Tina (Brian) Green, Huntington, IN; and several grandchildren.

Along with his father he was preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Marks.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. followed by a service of remembrance and sharing at 2:00 p.m., at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.

Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Huntington County Humane Shelter in care of McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN  46750.
