Jerry Alan Prescott, age 88, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at his residence. Jerry was born on April 17, 1937, in Union City, IN, to the late Benjamin Ralph and Alice Letitia (Simmons) Prescott. He married Carolyn Sue Jones on May 30, 1960, and she preceded him in death on November 4, 2024.
Jerry was a 1955 graduate of Wayne High School in Indiana and graduated from Trine University formerly Tri State University. Jerry proudly served in the United States Army from 1960-1962. Jerry was a Chief Mechanical Engineer for IMCO from 1968-1997, and on the weekends, along with his wife, owned and operated the Fisherman Cove Trailer Park in Coldwater, MI, from 1972-2019. Jerry was a member of Seminary United Methodist Church in Roanoke and a member of the Roanoke Lions Club.
Jerry is survived by one son, Mark A. (Kimberly) Prescott, West Henrietta, NY; two daughters, Julie (Eric) Stouder, Andrews, IN, Sarah (Doug) Wagner, Fort Wayne, IN; four grandchildren, Nicole (Kevin) Seefried, Hannah Prescott, Emma Wagner, Ava Wagner; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Along with his wife and parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph “Gene” Prescott.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at McElhaney Funeral Home – Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN, with Pastor Jason Fields officiating.
A burial will follow immediately after the service with Military honors at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke, IN.
