Jean Ann (Stoltz) Buzzard

Jean Ann Buzzard, age 89, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Heritage Pointe of Huntington.

Jean Ann was born on April 5, 1936, in Huntington, IN, to the late Andrew and Dorothy (Scher) Stoltz. Jean Ann married Morris Franklin “Sonny” Buzzard on April 7, 1956, and he preceded her in death on June 17, 2009.  

Jean Ann graduated from Huntington Catholic High School.  She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Huntington. She enjoyed volunteering at the church and was a member of the Rosary Sodality.  Jean Ann was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Third Order of St. Francis.

Jean Ann is survived by three sons, David (Connie) Buzzard, Huntington, IN, Daniel Buzzard, Fishers, IN, Duane Buzzard, Fort Wayne, IN; five daughters, Diane Stone, Andrews, IN, Donna (Mick) Oden, Huntington, IN, Dolores A. (Kenny) Schneider, Newburgh, IN, Denice Drummond, Huntington, IN, Dawn Buzzard, Fort Wayne, IN; one brother, Donald (Valarie) Stoltz, Columbia City, IN; one sister, Janet (Mike) Berghoff, Big Lake, IN;  14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Along with Jean Ann’s parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Dean Buzzard, Doug Buzzard;  one grandson Jeremy Oden and one brother, Gerald Stoltz.

Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, followed by the calling hours from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.

Additional calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. all at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN, 46750, with Fr. Tony Steinacker presiding.

The burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
