Janice J. (Juillerat) Schroeder

Janice J. Schroeder, 86, of Huntington, IN passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at The Waters of Huntington, Huntington, Indiana.

Janice was born on October 17, 1936, in Whitley County, IN, to Virgil and Chella (Howenstine) Juillerat. Her parents preceded her in death.  She married Robert P. Schroeder on December 31, 1954. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2005.

Janice was a 1954 graduate of Washington Center School, Whitley County.  She was a waitress for many years at Schroeder’s Restaurant in Huntington.  She later helped with the family business at Schroeder’s Oil Company and Schroeders Sales & Service.  She was a member of Central Christian Church and CWF (Christian Women’s Fellowship) in Huntington.

Janice is survived by two sons, Lonny L. (Melissa) Schroeder, Huntington, IN, David (Jody) Schroeder, Andrews; one daughter, Cathy (Robert) Hull, Huntington; three brothers, Victor (Kim) Juillerat, Whitehouse, TN, Van (Kathy) Juillerat, Andrews, IN, John Juillerat, Columbia City, IN; one sister, Jarice Davenriner, Warren, IN; 8 grandchildren, Joshua Schroeder, Christopher Schroeder, Elizabeth Shively, Alyssa Bailey, Tony Hull, Brook Eckert, Ryan Schroeder, Anna Reust; and 13 great grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one brother, V. Kenneth Juillerat; and one sister, Janet Karst.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Central Christian Church, 500 MacGahan Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.

Additional calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the church, with Senior Pastor Chris Hayden officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Central Christian Church in care of McElhaney-Hart/Deal Rice Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
