Janet Elaine (Heitger) Sparks

Janet Elaine Sparks, age 79, of Roanoke, IN, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at her home.  She was born on March 7, 1946, in Fort Wayne, IN, to the late Earl and Louise (Boals) Heitger.  She married Talmage Sparks on March 12, 1965, and he preceded her in death on November 8, 2018.                                                  

She worked for Southwest Allen County Schools, Triad-Utrad, Supermarket Services and was a homemaker.  She received her GED at the age of 65.  She was a member of Roanoke Community Church. She liked putting together puzzles. She loved all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She baby sat many of them.  Above all she loved the Lord.

 She is survived by two daughters, Denise Ellis, Roanoke, IN and Jeanine Sparks, Speedway, IN; one son, Wendell (Naoma) Sparks, Huntertown, IN; one daughter-in-law, Cinda Sparks, Roanoke, seven grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren, and one brother, Roger (Linda) Heigter, Fort Wayne, IN.

She was preceded in death by one son, Butch Sparks; one son-in-law, Trent Ellis, and two brothers, David and Steve Heitger.

Private burial will be held at a later date.

Following Janet’s wishes there will be no service at this time a Celebration of life will be at a later date.
