Janet (Alles) Sheets

Janet Sheets, age 70, of Roanoke, IN, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Stillwater Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, IN.                                              

Janet was born on March 9, 1952, in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Dale N. and Naomi (Geels) Alles. She married Michael Sheets in 2005. He survives and lives in Roanoke, IN.

 Janet graduated from Huntington Catholic High School in 1970.  She then obtained her Master’s Degree in education. She taught in Fort Wayne, IN. She was a Member of St Joseph Catholic Church and American Legion Aux. Unit 160 where she was Past Aux Unit 160 President.  She enjoyed singing in the church choir and teaching CCD at St Joseph Catholic Church.  She was an avid Knitter.

 In addition to her husband she is survived by one step daughter Michelle (Chris) Hollowell of Topeka, IN.

Three brothers Dennis Alles, Roanoke, IN, Patrick (Malissa) Alles, Roanoke, IN and Joseph Alles, Tennessee.

Five sisters Carol Stopher, Fort Wayne, IN, Diane (Jerry) Eckert, Huntington, IN, Barbara Carroll, Roanoke, IN, Mary (Terry) Smith, Roanoke, IN and Lisa (Kevin) Sauter, Fort Wayne, IN. 4 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.

 Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one sister Catherine Hattendorf.

 Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at McElhaney Funeral Home Roanoke Chapel 240 Crestwood Dr. Roanoke, IN 46783.

 Additional Calling will be Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial all at St. Joseph Catholic Church 641 N. Main St. Roanoke, IN 46783. 

Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke, IN.
