Imogene E. Coffey, age 99, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Five Star Residences of Fort Wayne.
Imogene was born on July 22, 1924, in Loudonville, OH, to the late John and Eva (Orwig) Ostrander. Imogene married Robert Worthington Coffey on June 30, 1950, and he preceded her in death on August 31, 1991.
Imogene graduated high school and attended cosmetology school. She was a beautician for many years and sold Avon up until the age of 94. She was a member of the former Monson Chapel Church. She led bible studies for over 40 years and was very strong in the Stonecroft Ministries. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Five Star Residences of Fort Wayne and Stillwater Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion that their mother was given while she was there.
Imogene is survived by one son, James (Georgean Johnson-Coffey), Coffey, Fort Wayne, IN; two grandchildren, Gretchen K. (Tyler) Ottinger, Amanda Casto; daughter-in-law, Josie Coffey; 7 great grandchildren, Madison (Chase) Warner, Sophie (Jesse) Saxton, Emelia Ottinger, Isabelle Ottinger, Matthew Wilson, Cassie Casto, Wyatt Casto; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Stanley R. Coffey; three brothers, Owen “Rocky” Ostrander, Jack Ostrander, Edward Sheets; one sister, Dorothy Louise Ostrander; and one grandchild, Matthew R. Coffey.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. at McElhaney Funeral Home, Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN, 46783, with Harold Klinker officiating.
Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke, IN.
