Helen M. (Martz) Hamilton

Helen M. Hamilton, age 95, of Roanoke, IN, passed away on Thursday,  December 19, 2024, at the Heritage of Huntington.

Helen was born on February 8, 1929, in Fort Wayne, IN, to the late William and Nellie May Marie (Hyser) Martz. She married Richard D. Hamilton on April 30, 1948, and he preceded her in death on December 14, 1974.

Helen graduated from Lafeyette Center High School and worked as a packer at Hunckler Products.

She enjoyed Gardening, Cross Stich and crocheting, but most of all she enjoyed her grandkids and family.  

Helen is survived by two sons, Richard Hamilton, Columbia City, IN, Sam (Brenda) Hamilton, Huntington, IN; two daughters, Pam (Gary) DeWitt, Roanoke, IN, Sandi (Tom) Wolf, Leesburg, AL; one sister, Diana “Susie” (Larry) Miller, Roanoke, IN; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one son Terry Hamilton; 5 brothers, William Martz, Jr., Harold Martz, Ralph Martz, Ronnie Martz, Dave Martz; and three sisters, Betty Neeley, Marilyn Feemster, and Donna Ditton.

A visitation will be held on Monday December 23, 2024, from 10:00a.m. till 12:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. all at McElhaney Funeral Home-Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN.

The burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke, IN.
