Helen Margaret (Prus) Davis

Helen Margaret Davis, age 90, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the Heritage of Huntington.

Helen was born on February 18, 1932, in Huntington, IN, to the late Casmer and Fenna (Hnatejko) Prus.  She married Robert Krumanaker September 15, 1951, and he preceded her in death in 1981. She then married Richard Davis on June 20, 1986, and he preceded her in death in 2019.

Helen was a 1950 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School. Helen began working at Our Sunday Visitor in the envelope department then became a paraprofessional with the Huntington County Community School Corporation.   She then earned her CNA and worked at Victory Noll and Norwood Nursing Home.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Ladies Moose #35, Marion, IN, Ladies Auxiliary VFW #2689, and Ladies Eagles in Marion.

Helen is survived by one son, Mark (Cathy) Krumanaker; two daughters, Cynthia (Mark) Schabitzer, Andrews, IN, Karen Buesching, Rome City, IN; two step-sons; four grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; and 16 step-great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by four brothers, Francis Prus, Joseph Prus, William Prus, Robert Prus; and one sister, Mary Ann South.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a calling from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a 11:00 a.m. Memorial Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, Indiana 46750, with Fr. Thomas Zehr presiding. 

Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
