Harold E. Finton, 82, of Huntington, IN, went to be with Our Lord and Savior on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne, IN.
Harold was born on January 27, 1940, in Kosciusko County, IN, to Augusta and Vera (Logan) Finton. His parents preceded him in death. He married Sandra Lou Thorn, wife of 50 years, on October 17, 1965. She preceded him in death October 14, 2016.
Harold graduated from Lancaster High School in 1958. He retired from Essex Wire after 30 years and worked at Lime City as well. He was also the Janitor at First Baptist Church for over 12 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a life member of the NRA. Harold loved to sing and play guitar, and most importantly, he loved spending time with family. He also loved cars and attending car shows.
Harold is survived by two sons, Jonathan Finton, Robert (Dawn) Finton, both of Huntington, IN; two daughters, Korinna (Earl) Carpenter, Andrews, IN, Naomi (Matt) Ritter, Palm Bay, FL; three brothers, William (Betty) Finton, Huntington, IN, James (Ruth) Finton, Fort Wayne, IN, and Richard Finton, Markle, IN, one sister-in-law, Janet Finton, Huntington, IN; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Dave Finton; two sisters, Doris Blessing and Marge Shenefield.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney- Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at McElhaney- Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN with Rev. Dianna Teusch officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
