Gary W. Conley

Gary W. Conley, 83, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Envive of Huntington.

Gary was born on February 22, 1939, in Ashland, KY, to Rollie and Ambie (Tolliver) Conley.   His parents preceded him in death. Gary’s first marriage was to June Thacker and she preceded him in death in 1978.  His second marriage was to Henda McCurley and she preceded him in death on March 25, 2021.

 Gary served in the United States Air Force.   He worked at Kresge (Kmart) Warehouse and retired from the Kmart Warehouse. He attended the First Freewill Baptist Church in Huntington.

 Gary is survived by one son, Richard Conley, Huntington, IN; one daughter, Linda (Gerald Simmons) Sanders, Huntington, IN; one brother, Brunk Conley, Huntington, IN; one sister, Sue (Otis) Jones, Huntington, IN. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 Along with his parents and wives he was preceded in death by two sons, Jeff Conley and Jack Conley; four brothers, Billy Conley, Georgie Huff, Willard Ray Huff, Marvin Huff; two sisters-in-law, Myrtle Huff, Mag Conley; and two grandchildren, Adam Johnson and Samantha Conley.

 Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at First Freewill Baptist Church, 1805 Salmonie Avenue, Huntington, IN, 46750.

 Additional calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., prior to the funeral service held at First Freewill Baptist Church at 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 12, 2023.

 Burial will be at Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

 In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to First Freewill Baptist Church in care of McElhaney-Hart/Deal Rice Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN, 46750.
