Gary W. Brown

Gary W. Brown, age 64, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Gary was born on July 3, 1959, in Huntington, IN, to Ronald L. and Marcia A. (Krugh) Brown.   Gary married Jill Allgeier on June 5, 1999, and she survives and resides in Huntington.

Gary was a 1977 graduate of Huntington North High School and a 1981 graduate of Ball State University.  He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Huntington, IN, and was an elder at the church. He retired as an Accountant from Republic Services in Wabash, IN. Gary had been a basketball coach for Lutheran school and on the school board. He had also coached at the Salvation Army and the YMCA. He was a past President of the Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery board and was an avid golfer and trivia wizard.

Along with his father, Ronald, and wife, Jill, he is survived by three sons, Aaron (Erin) Brown, Adrian (Bailey) Brown, Eliot (Alex) Brown, all of Huntington, IN; one step-son, Ian Bruemleve, TX; one step-daughter, Haley Bruemleve, MI; one brother, Philip (Susan) Brown, Huntington, IN; one sister, Jill (Darrin) Dorsett, Huntington, IN; 9 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Marica Brown.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 648 N. Lafontaine Street, Huntington, IN, with Rev. Timothy Lorenz officiating.

Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
