Fredia Irene (Adkins) Teusch

Fredia Irene Teusch, age 77, of Harlan, IN, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Parkview Dekalb Hospital in Auburn, IN.

Fredia was born in Big Shoal, KY, on January 20, 1948, to the late Samie and Ivy (Allen) Adkins.  She married Bernard James Teusch on July 3, 1970, and he preceded her in death on November 27, 2007. 

Fredia worked in Food Service for East Allen County Schools at Harlan Elementary.  She was a member of the Brookside Community Church in Fort Wayne, and she enjoyed being involved with the Women’s Group.  Fredia loved to travel and was an Elvis Presley fan.

Fredia is survived by one daughter, Julie (Neil) Justice, Auburn, IN; one son, Jason Teusch, New Haven, IN; one brother, Mike Adkins, Huntington, IN; two sisters, Deloris (Leo) Fannin, Melbourne, FL, Patty (David) McCormick, Palm Bay, FL; 6 grandchildren, Dustin (Morgan) Bye, Jessica (Dillon) Roller, Zane Teusch, Devon Bye, Blane Teusch, Reagan Justice; and one great-granddaughter, Elena Roller.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, Bobby Adkins, Samie Adkins, Jr., Frank Adkins and Paul Adkins.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.

Additional Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by the 11:00 am Funeral Service at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, with Pastor Eric Dubach officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
