Obituary

Evelyn R. Godfroy, 89 of Huntington, IN passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
                                               
   Mrs. Godfroy was born on June 10, 1932, in Arlington, OH to Harold and Ruth (Harman) Glick. Her parents preceded her in death.  
  Evelyn was married to Paul R. Godfroy on May 29, 1954. He passed away on December 25, 2005.  They had celebrated 51 years of marriage. Evelyn graduated from Memorial High School, St. Mary’s, OH, and attended Capital University in Columbus, OH. She worked at Triad/Utrad/Magnetek for 38 years when she retired from there in 1994.
 
  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and the Rosary Sodality.  She was a member in the American Legion Post 7 Auxiliary and the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 2689 Auxiliary, where she served as a past president.  She was also a member of the Huntington Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 837.  She was a long-time volunteer ticket taker at the Huntington Catholic School athletic events.
 
   Evelyn is survived by one son, Steven (Julie) Godfroy, Huntington, IN and one daughter Jane (Joe) Burkhart, Huntington, IN. Eight grandchildren, Jarod Burkhart, Huntington, IN, Jenifer (Jim Riley) Burkhart, Huntington, IN, Jessica Williams, Muncie, IN, Dylan Burkhart, Huntington, IN, Kevin (Janna) Godfroy, Roanoke, IN, Kayla (Joe) Becker, Connersville, IN, Kyle (fiancé, Andi Vicksman) Godfroy, Denver, CO, and Kelsey (Andrew) Stone, Milwaukee, WI; and eleven great-grandchildren, Maytelin Miller, Elliott Miller, Morgan (Burkhart) Rowles, Wesley Burkhart, Kameron Burkhart, Kaytelin Burkhart, Keira Becker, Faith Becker, Joey Becker, Thomas Becker and Henry Becker.
   In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Mary Glick, and her brother Howard Glick.
 
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.
 
Rosary will be recited at 8:45 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750. An hour of calling will follow from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to Mass.
 
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, with Father Thomas Zehr presiding.
 
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
 
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Mary Church or Huntington Catholic School in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.
