Esther Karst

Esther Karst, age 83, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Esther was born on  June 8, 1940, in  Huntington, IN, to Benjamin and LaVerna (Humerickhouse) Cunningham.   Her parents preceded her in death.

Esther was a 1958 graduate of Huntington High School and a member of the Salvation Army Church.  

Esther is survived by one son, John F. (Heather) Karst II, Roanoke, IN, and  one daughter, Terra Karst, Huntington, IN; three grandchildren, Mariah (Spenser) Massey, William (Alexis) Ray Jr. and Andrew Ray; five great grandchildren; and one sister, Geraldine Snow, Huntington, IN.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Cunningham, and two sisters, MaDonna Smith, and Ruth Buckman.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Salvation Army, 1424 E Market St, Huntington, IN, and there will be a lunch to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Salvation Army Church, in care of McElhaney-Hart/ Deal Rice Funeral Homes, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN.
