Edwin David Jones

Edwin David Jones, age 93, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Heritage Pointe of Huntington.  

 Edwin was born on October 3, 1930, in Carroll, NE, to the late Elfed David and E. Lois (Morris) Jones. He married Drusilla “Druie” Hunter on May 26, 1957, in Silver Creek, NE and she preceded him in death on June 8, 2018.

Edwin was a 1949 high school graduate of St. Edward High School in Nebraska and served in the United States Marine Corps. He worked in maintenance for many years at Huntington College and retired after 18 years in 1991.   He was a former HAT driver and worked maintenance at the YMCA. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Huntington and had attended Church without Walls in Huntington.

Edwin is survived by one son, Allan (Cheryl) Jones, Waynedale, IN; one daughter, Diane Burcham, Huntington, IN; one sister, Eva Valdez, Choteau, MT; 5 grandchildren, Nekoma Burcham, Leah Wansley, Crystal (Tim) Kohler, Chad Jones, Rachel Jones, 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Edwin is also survived by his faithful dog, Missy.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024, from 9am to 11am followed by the 11am Funeral Service at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, with Pastor Dan Wust officiating.

Private Interment at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion, IN.
