Edward J. Stoffel 85, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Wednesday July 22, 2020 at Parkview Regional Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.
Mr. Stoffel was born on October 25, 1934, in Huntington, IN, to August N. and Agnes M. (Ufheil) Stoffel. His parents preceded him in death. Edward married Marilyn Kapp on August 31, 1957 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Marilyn survives and resides in Huntington.
Edward was a 1953 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School. He graduated from Purdue University in 1958 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He retired from Magnavox, where he worked for 35 years. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Huntington.
Along with his wife, he is survived by five sons, Daniel Stoffel, Huntington, IN; Bernard (Michelle) Stoffel, Huntington,, IN; Matthew (Jamie) Stoffel, Roanoke, IN; David Stoffel, Huntington, IN; and Benjamin (Amy) Stoffel, Hershey, PA; three daughters, Deborah (Dan) Scheiber, Huntington, IN; Judith Shaw, Huntington, IN; and Rachel (Chad) Brumbaugh, Huntington, IN. Also survived by one sister Marilyn (Ron) Mitten, Beach Park, IL. 25 Grandchildren and 39 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Richard, Mark, Donald and Bernard Stoffel. 2 sisters Phyllis Stuck and June Eckert.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 27, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church prior to the Mass.
Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am Tuesday July 28, 2020 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.
Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
