E. Joseph “Joe” Homier, Jr., age 75, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Heritage Pointe of Warren.
Joe was born on March 5, 1950, in Huntington, IN, to the late Emmet J. and Merita (Stoltz) Homier, Sr. He married Cynthia L. Binder on February 21, 1976, and she survives and resides in Huntington.
Joe was a 1968 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School. He then graduated from ITT Technical Institute and SAM Tech Institute. He was an Electrical Engineer at Square D in Huntington for over 38 years. Joe was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church where he served on parish council, helped as usher, and attended CHRP, he was also active in the Boy Scout Troop #135, Huntington County Amateur Radio Club, March of Dimes, Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, and Huntington Youth Council.
Along with his wife, Cindy, Joe is survived by one son, Brian Homier, Fort Wayne, IN; two brothers, Jim (Lisa) Homier, Lafayette, IN, Tim Homier, Fort Wayne, IN; and one sister, Susie Homier, Fort Wayne, IN.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Jillian Homier.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:50 p.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m., all at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN, with Father Tony Steinacker presiding.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Anthony Wayne Area Council, BSA in care of McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.
