Donald "Moe" R. Hostetler

Donald R. “Moe” Hostetler, age 78, of Huntington, IN, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Lutheran Life Villages, Fort Wayne, IN.                                            

Donald was born on July 19, 1945, in Peru, IN, to the late Harold and Esther (Loe) Hostetler.  

Donald graduated from Peru High School and served in the United States Army. He retired after working many years as a signalman for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad. He was a member of Moose Lodge #837 and loved bowling and watching his grandchildren play sports. Donald also enjoyed singing Motown and making people laugh.

Donald is survived by one son, Troy (Kim) Hostetler, Huntington, IN; one daughter, Nicole (Cory) Hall-Johnston, Fort Wayne, IN; two sisters, Nancy Hall, Peru, IN, Dixie (Joe) Trinkle, Logansport, IN; two grandchildren, Isaac Hostetler and Macyn Hostetler.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Hostetler, Norm Hostetler; and one sister, Linda Benedict.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750, with Jason Fields officiating.

The burial will be at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN  46750.
