Obituary

Deloris Karst, 86, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Deloris was born on April 10, 1934, in Lawton, OK, to Doyle and Dorothy (Duggan) Welch.  Her parents preceded her in death.  She married Donald G. Karst on April 30, 1960, and celebrated 59 years of marriage until his passing on December 5, 2019. 

Deloris was a high school graduate from Langley, AR.  She was a homemaker and worked in factory assembly for over 35 years at Pyle Industries in Huntington.  She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the Eagles Lodge. 

Deloris is survived by two sons, David Karst, Terry (Flav) Karst; two daughters, Debra Karst, Sharon Michael, all of Huntington, IN.  Also surviving is two sisters, Dolly (Jessie) Caugburn, Glenwood, AR, Kay (Paul) Schoeff, Albion, IN; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Michael Karst; 6 brothers; two sisters; and one granddaughter, Danielle Nicole Karst.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750, with Fr. Tony Steinacker presiding.

We are asking that everyone please follow the CDC guidelines and state mandate for social distancing and wearing a mask.

Burial will be at Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
