Delores A. (Drerup) Roberts

Delores A. Roberts, age 74 of North Webster, IN, and Bradenton FL, and formerly of Huntington, IN, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026, in Bradenton, FL.        

Mrs. Roberts was born on July 3, 1951, in Huntington, Indiana to the late Anthony “Bud” and Donna (Wynn) Drerup. She married John A. Roberts on June 27, 1970, in Huntington. He preceded her in death April 19, 2022.

Delores was a 1969 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School.  She received her B.A. from Ball State University in 1974 and an M.A. from Indiana University in 1980.  Delores was an elementary school teacher for 31 ½ years, teaching at St. Mary Catholic School, Horace Mann, Central and Flint Springs Elementary Schools.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Indiana Retired Teachers Association, and was an active member of Psi Iota Xi for many years helping to organize many of their events.

Delores loved tending to her flowers and bird watching. She enjoyed exploring the outdoors. She especially loved camping at Ludington State Park, which will be cherished by her daughters. Delores and her family enjoyed traveling the United States and foreign countries.  For many years, Delores has enjoyed wintering in Florida alongside her sister and brother-in-law.

Delores is survived by three daughters, Jennifer (Kevin) Campbell, Huntington, IN, Lisa (Troy) Lephart, Muncie, IN, Carolyn (Kraig) Borders, Elkhart, IN; a sister, Constance (Steve) Bailey, Warsaw, IN, and seven grandchildren; Travis Campbell, Brandy Campbell, Chase Lephart, Jacob (Sydney) Lephart, Ryleigh Lephart, Brynlee Borders and Lily Borders.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN  46750, with Recitation of the Rosary beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Additional calling hours will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN,  on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, with Fr. Tony Steinacker presiding.

Burial will be in Mt Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or The Heart Institute Fund at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in care of McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN  46750.
