Dave A. Herber

Dave A. Herber, 63, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.                                              

Dave was born on July 9, 1956, in Fort Wayne, IN, to Francis “Fritz” and Eileen (Landstoffer) Herber. His parents preceded him in death.  He married Betty Probus on September 22, 1979.  She survives and resides in Huntington.

Dave was a 1974 graduate of Huntington North High School and received his Associates Degree in HVAC from Ivy Tech.  He was building maintenance at Good Humor Breyer’s in Huntington for 32 years.   He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Huntington.

Along with his wife, Betty, he is survived by one daughter, Lori Herber-Griffin, Cologne, Germany; two sons, Brandon (Cheryl) Herber, Laotto, IN, Jeff (Chasity) Herber, Indianapolis, IN; four brothers, Steven (Cathy) Herber, Thomas (Becky) Herber, both of Roanoke, IN, Daniel (Kellie) Herber, Huntington, IN, Patrick (Joanna) Herber, Indianapolis, IN; and two grandchildren, Frances Wren Herber-Griffin and Oskar Stefan Herber.

The family will have a private viewing.

A Memorial Mass at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church will be July 30, 2020 at 5:00 PM with a calling 1 hour before from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM all at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church 860 Cherry St. 

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.

A private burial will be at a later date.
