Darlene (Little) Smith

Darlene Smith, age 72, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN.

Darlene was born on March 24, 1953, in Melvin, KY, to the late Cecil and Earlene (Henson) Little.  Darlene married Danny R. Smith in Huntington, IN, on July 2, 1977, and he preceded her in death on November 15, 2015. 

Darlene was a 1971 graduate of Huntington North High School. She retired as a CNA from Victory Noll and loved her time there taking care of the sisters.  Darlene was a natural caretaker through life and always put others before herself.  She will be dearly missed by her family.

Darlene is survived by one son, David Smith; one daughter, Amanda Smith; grandson, Tyler Green; and one sister, Barbara Harris, all of Huntington, IN.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jeffrey Little.       

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by a 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St. Huntington, IN  46750.

A private family burial will be at  Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
