Danny E. Flora

Danny E. Flora, age 88, of Roanoke, IN, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022, at Sage Bluff Health & Rehabilitation, Fort Wayne, IN.

Danny was born on June 19, 1934, in Muncie, IN, to the late James Edward and Leona Elsie (Brown) Flora.   Danny married Donna Keplinger on December 12, 1953, and she preceded him in death on December 17, 2012.

Danny was a graduate of Roanoke High School.  He was a truck driver for 30 years and worked dispatch for 10 years at W&W Gravel.  He enjoyed buying and selling cars, bowling, playing cards, watching and coaching baseball and IU basketball.

Danny is survived by one son, Don E. Flora, Fort Wayne, IN; five grandchildren, Andrew Flora, Jennifer Shull, Jeff Flora, Jill Flora, Cory Cartwright; 6 great-grandchildren, Livia Flora, Jack Shull, Luke Shull, Stella Jones, Cole Flora and  Maisyn Flora.

Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two sons, David E. Flora, Douglas E. Flora; infant twin brother, Jackie Flora; sister, Marjorie Sweatland; and one great-granddaughter, Lillianna Shull.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 641 N. Main Street, Roanoke, IN, with Fr. Dale Bauman presiding.

A private burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Roanoke, IN.
