Christine Diane (Michael) Zahm

Christine Diane Zahm, age 67, entered eternity peacefully in her Huntington, IN home on Saturday, December 20, 2025.  Christine was born on September 16, 1958, in Kenton, OH, to James Richard Michael (Captain) who preceded her in death and Mona Gail (Dutton) Fletcher who lives in Warren, IN. 

Christine married Richard “Dick” Zahm on February 7, 1997, and he survives in Huntington.

Christine was a 1976 graduate of Elida High School in Ohio. She was co-owner of Northside Cleaners and Parkmoor Car Wash for many years.

Christine’s life was a quiet light that touched everyone who crossed her path. From childhood, when she first placed her trust in Jesus, she sought to love others the way He loved her. Joy was her constant companion – present in her words, her service and the countless ways she placed others before herself.  She cared deeply and gave freely, pouring strength and compassion into those around her. Her generosity reached far beyond her home, extending to missions and to her faithful work at Covered with Love.

Even in her final days, when her earthly journey grew short, Christine’s spirit never dimmed. Gratitude flowed from her – to every nurse, technician, and doctor who watched over her. Her kindness remained unwavering, a reflection of the One she followed.

To know Christine was to witness a life anchored in Jesus. And our invitation to you is the same invitation she lived by; say “yes” to Him. In Him, there is peace that outlasts hardship, and a joy that outlives us. Like Christine, you can be a child of the Living God, knowing that your last breath here leads to your first breath in His presence.

When you remember Christine, may you remember the love of Jesus she so beautifully carried.

Along with her loving husband Richard “Dick” of 28 years, Christine is survived by her daughter, Brianna Spurgeon; her mother, Mona Fletcher; her stepchildren; Connie Smith, Cindy (Mike) Cook, Rick (Laura) Zahm,  Step mother Carolyn Michael,  and 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Along with her father she was preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Rymarquis; and stepfather, Jerry Fletcher.

A Celebration of Life honoring Christine will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Life Church, 900 E. State Street, Huntington, IN.
