Christine E. Scher

Christine E. Jacoby Scher, 61,of Huntington, IN, passed away on September 24, 2018 at Oakbrook Village.

Mrs. Scher was born May 9, 1957, in Huntington, IN, to William and Evelyn (Goodrich) Plasterer.  Her parents preceded her in death. She married Sam Scher on April 27, 1991.  He survives in Huntington, IN.

Christine was a 1975 graduate of Huntington North High School.  She was a Mary Kay consultant and worked with special needs children at Huntington North High School.  

Christine was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Huntington, IN.  She was also a member of Job’s daughter.  She was very artistic and she loved making furniture items and working with home décor.

Along with her husband Sam, Christine is survived by two sons, Joshua Jacoby, Huntington, IN and Daniel (Sara) Scher, Huntington, IN; one daughter, Bethany Biddle, Jacksonville, NC.  Also surviving are three brothers, William (Nan) Plasterer, Huntington, IN, Robert Plasterer, Huntington, IN and Edward (Teresa) Plasterer, Warren, IN; one sister, Amanda (Wes) Hosier, Huntington, IN. and one step-son, Scott Jacoby.  She is also survived by five grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband Allen Jacoby.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September, 27, 2018, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at McElhaney–Hart Funeral Home 715 N. Jefferson St. Huntington, IN.  Additional calling one hour prior to Mass at the church on Friday, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM; with recitation of the rosary at 9:40 AM prior to the Mass at 10:00 AM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Friday, September 28, 2018, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for Masses, Special Olympics and Cancer Services of Huntington County in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
