Chase Cooper Satterthwaite, 17, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Saturday, August 22, at 11:40 a.m., surrounded by his family. He fought many hard battles over the past five years and was exceptionally strong and brave.
Chase was born on December 17, 2002, in Fort Wayne, IN, to Rodney E. and Tiffany M. (Stetzel) Satterthwaite.
Chase attended Northwest Elementary, Crestview Middle School and Huntington North High School. He enjoyed playing video games and soccer. He loved nature and would have had a pet penguin or two if allowed. Chase has a natural gift for music and could play the violin, cello, drums and piano. Chase has a kind heart and fantastically wicked sense of humor. He was always thinking outside of the box and was one heck of an intelligent kid. This world is going to be missing one of the greatest there ever was.
Chase loved his family and friends to the moon and back. He was the best brother anyone could ever ask for. He will be missed by his special sidekick, Willow.
Chase went to heaven, a far better place, before his parents Rod and Tiffany, his brothers, Mason and Parker and his grandparents, Joyce Satterthwaite and Mike Stetzel. His Grandma Mary Stetzel and Grandpa Rex Satterthwaite preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Chase’s life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus, 2817 Theater Avenue, Huntington, IN 46750. Please come with up-lifted hearts and happy memories to share. We ask that people be considerate of any Covid regulations that might be in place and of course wear orange (Chase’s favorite color).
A private graveside will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
Instead of flowers or gifts please consider a donation to the National Leiomyosarcoma Foundation in Chase’s honor; Cancer Services of Huntington County; Riley Children's Foundation; or any animal organization of your choice.
