Charles Thomas “Tom” Laupp, age 85, of Huntington County, IN, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at his residence.
Mr. Laupp was born on September 30, 1940, in Milwaukee, WI, to the late Charles Norman and Dorothy Ivy (Baker) Laupp. Tom married Sharon Egan in 1967. She survives and resides in Huntington County.
Mr. Laupp was a 1958 graduate of Nicolet High School, Milwaukee, WI, and in 1968 earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Tom served in the United States Army stationed in Heilbrunn, Germany as a combat Engineer from 1963-1966. He then worked in Senior Sales with Carson Perry Scott Floor covering for over 43 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scouts, and a member of the Old Ford Model A Club in Fort Wayne for 30 years and was a Past President. He was a member of the Three Rivers Visiting Dogs for over 25 years and a Red Cross-National volunteer helping all over the country.
Along with his wife he is survived by one son, Brian (Becky) Laupp, Port Charlotte, FL; 5 grandchildren, Clinton, Anthony, Christopher, Jaron, and Dorian; 10 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Dawn Carnes; one sister, Marjorie Helen Swain; and one granddaughter, Whitney Carnes.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m., at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, with Fr. Tony Steinacker presiding.
Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery, Marion, IN.
