Catherine M. (Harris) Street

Catherine M. Street, 93, Muncie, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at her residence.            

Catherine was born on October 4, 1926, in Huntington, IN, to Orville S. and Laura (Funderburg) Harris.  Her parents preceded her in death.

Catherine graduated high school and then went to Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne for Nursing school.  She was an LPN at the former Huntington Memorial Hospital now known as Parkview Huntington Hospital and retired after working there for over 20 years.  Catherine was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, IN.

Catherine is survived by three sons,  Bruce (Karen) Street, Huntington, IN; Billy (Joyce) Street, Seattle, WA; Brian (Lisa) Street, Markle, IN; three daughters, Susan Hatala, Warsaw, IN; Patricia Sandlin, Muncie, IN, Christine M. Schacht, Kansas; 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by four sons, Thomas Street, Douglas Street, Steven Street, Michael Street; three brothers, Benjamin Harris, Carl Harris, Donald W. Harris; and three sisters, Blanche Marie Harris, Opal Gladys Harris, and Gladys B. Walker.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN.          .

A Funeral Service at the funeral home will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Kent Young officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
