Carolyn Williams, 83, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, in Huntington, IN, at her son’s residence.
Carolyn was born on December 28, 1938, in New Hope, AR, to Samuel and Katie (Shields) McBay. Her parents preceded her in death. She married Robert D. Williams on April 17, 1960, and he preceded her in death on July 21, 2016.
Carolyn was a graduate of Roanoke High School in 1956. She was a homemaker and worked various jobs throughout her lifetime. She was a member of the South Broadway Church of Christ in Huntington, and was involved with various other organizations in the past. Carolyn loved collecting and making her own jewelry. She loved garage and yard sales and was known to do spontaneous drive by pick-ups in alleys. Her motto was, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.
Carolyn is survived by three sons, Perry (Diane) Williams, Huntington, IN, Tracy Williams, Fort Wayne, IN, John (Helen) Williams; and one daughter, Charlene Hall, both of Huntington, IN. She is also survived by one brother, Calvin (Gloria) McBay, New Hope, AR; five sisters, Barbara (Chuck) Pearson, Tulsa, OK, Edith (David) Coffman, New Hope AR, Fran (Dan) Baumgardner, Ossian, IN, Emma Nesbit, Sun City, AZ, Millie Stoppenhagen, Noblesville, IN; five grandchildren, Aimee (Philip) Morton, Marcus Hall, Andrew Williams, Samuel Williams, Nathan Williams; and 5 great-grandchildren, Millie Morton, Grady Morton, Monroe Morton, Lucas Hall and Phoenix Hall.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by an 11:30 Funeral Service at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
Graveside burial will be at Gardens of Memory, Marion, IN.
