Carolyn A. Covey, age 89, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, surrounded by her family at her residence.
Carolyn A. Covey was born on April 17, 1936, in Huntington, IN, to the late Nyle and Mary Agnes (Stoffel) Byrd. Carolyn married William A. Covey, Sr., on September 25, 1954, and he survives and resides in Huntington, IN.
Carolyn graduated from Huntington High School. She was a telephone operator for Indiana Bell for many years. She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Huntington. She was also a member of the Grandma’s Club and enjoyed working with her flowers, making crafts and was a wonderful cook.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, William (Jenny) Covey Jr, Huntington, IN; one sister, Phyllis Hunt, Huntington, IN; 5 grandchildren, Richard Jones, Nicki Jones, Chris Covey, Michelle Payton, Jason Covey; several great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Louise Covey, Roanoke, IN, Maryann (Jerry) Gressley, Andrews, IN; and her nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Sue Covey; and brother-in-law, Jack Covey.
Services will be held at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church beginning with the Recitation of the Rosary at 9:30 a.m. followed by the calling hours until 11:00 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN with Fr. Tony Steinacker presiding.
Interment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
