Brenda Colleen (Whitaker) Caffee

Brenda Colleen Caffee, age 74, of Roanoke, IN, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, at her residence in Roanoke, IN. Brenda was born on June 3, 1951, in Somerset, KY, to the late Roy Denver and Hazel (Smith) Whitaker.  She married Stephan B. Caffee on November 21, 1970, in Shelbyville, IN, and he preceded her death on January 11, 2009.

Brenda was a 1969 graduate of Rushville High School in Rushville, IN. She was a bookkeeper and also worked at Square D in Huntington, IN.  She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the American Legion #160 and a former member of the Bible Mission Church in Shelbyville, IN. 

Brenda enjoyed spending time with her family. She liked taking road trips and spending time at home with her cat, Mazzy.  She enjoyed bacon and coffee, working on family genealogy, and scrapbooking.

Brenda is survived by two sons, Travis (Michelle) Caffee, Bargersville, IN, Adam Kyle (Amber) Caffee, Huntington, IN; one daughter, Brandi (Gary) Harris, Roanoke, IN; 12 grandchildren, Mariah Caffee, Corbi Caffee, Olive Caffee, Finn Caffee, Isabelle Rawlings, Tyler Harris, Cierra Treska, Cara Kuehl, Camille Harris, Caitlyn Gordon, Denver Caffee, Brendan Caffee; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Nicholson, Randy Whitaker; two sisters, Barbara Gayle Nicholson, Connie Weisner; and one grandson, Jarath Rawlings.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney Funeral Home – Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN 46783.

Additional calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed with a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at McElhaney Funeral Home – Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN, with Pastor Fred Girdwood officiating.

Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke, IN.
