Billy Williams

Billy Williams, 74, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019, at 2:45 a.m. at his residence.          

  Billy was born on January 8, 1945, in Pikeville, KY, to Raymond and Easter (Smith) Williams.  His parents preceded him in death.  Billy married Lois Tackett on November 1, 1969.  She survives and resides in Huntington.

Billy served in the United States Army as a paratrooper and was a marksman rifleman.   He retired from HCCSC (Huntington County Community School Corporation) in 1992, as a custodian at Lincoln Elementary for many years.   Billy attended First Freewill Baptist of Huntington. He loved to fish and be outside working in the yard.   He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and to everyone who knew him.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Lois, one son, Steven Todd (Dawn) Williams, Huntington, IN; one grandson, Nicolas Andrew Williams (fiancée’ Morgan Kappel), Huntington, IN; one brother, Bobby Lee Williams, Edmonton, KY; two sisters, Lorraine Williams, Edmonton, KY, and Elmo Maynard, Portsmouth, OH.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, John Williams, James Williams, Graham Williams; and two sisters, Leona Scalf and Nellie Johnson.

Calling will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.

Military Rites and Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Brunk Conley officiating.

A private burial will be at a later date.
