Betty M. (Heffelfinger) Bowers

Betty M. Bowers, 82, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN.

Betty was born on November 13, 1937, in Huntington, IN, to Vern and Chloella (Lash) Heffelfinger. Her parents preceded her in death.  Betty married Norm Bowers in 1958 and celebrated 61 years of marriage.  Norm survives and resides in Huntington.

Betty was experienced in upholstery and custom sewing and was co-owner of Norm’s Upholstery working side by side her husband in Huntington for many years.  

 Along with her husband, Norm of 61 years, Betty is survived by three sons, Randy (Donna) Bowers, Rick Bowers, Norm, Jr. “Butch” (Sue Parker) Bowers; one daughter, Terry (Russell) Slone, all of Huntington.  She is also survived by one brother, Max Heffelfinger; one sister, Mary (Goff) Miller, both of Huntington; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Rose Polson; one brother, Bob Heffelfinger; and one sister, Colleen Workman.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home 715 North Jefferson St.  Huntington, IN 46750

A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Matt Snodderly officiating.

Burial will be at Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
