Barbara Elin (Patten) Wood

Barbara Elin Wood, age 84, of Roanoke, IN, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne, IN.

Barbara was born on April 16, 1939, in Roanoke, IN, to the late L. D. “Pete” and Frances (Yordy) Patten.  She married Clifford Earl Wood, and he preceded her in death.

Barbara was a homemaker and a member of the American Legion #160 Ladies Auxiliary.

Barbara is survived by three sons, Charles Wood, Roanoke, IN, Robert (Kay) Wood, Tucson, AZ, James (Kim) Wood, Huntington, IN; one daughter, Wanita (Greg) Darbonne, Dry Creek, LA; two brothers, Rex (Sandra) Patten, Tucson, AZ, Myron (Inge) Settlemyer, Springfield, OH; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Settlemyer.

To honor the wishes of Barbara there will be no services.

A private burial will be at a later date.
