Barbara J. Beacom

Barbara J. Beacom, age 78, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at her residence in Huntington.

Barbara was born on January 25, 1948, in Pickford, MI, to the late Clarence and Phyllis (Steele) Beacom. 

Barbara was a 1965 graduate of Pickford High School in Michigan.  She was a Supervisor at Magnetek for many years and then worked at United Tech before her retirement. Barbara attended College Park Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW Post #2689.  She enjoyed reading and visiting the library.  She also enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting.  Barbara loved to travel and go camping. 

Barbara is survived by one brother, Frank Beacom, Menominee, MI: 8 nieces and nephews, Mike (Cindy) Cook, Huntington, IN, Michelle (Gerald) Kage, Fort Wayne, IN, Jeremy (Deborah) Cook, Spencerville, IN, Kim Emery (Ramon Kyle), Huntington, IN, Patrick (Tia) Cook, Huntington, IN, Danielle (William) Feece, Huntington, IN, James Beacom, Jennifer Marcusen, both of Menominee, MI; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce V. Cook; one niece, Wendy Stebing; and one nephew, Christopher J. Cook.

A Gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 5pm to 7pm, at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.

A Graveside service will be held at a later date in Michigan.
