Audrey Avinell “Abby” Campbell, 78, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Mrs. Campbell was born January 1, 1941, in Wheelwright, KY, to Billy and Dixie (Stevens) Burgess. Her parents preceded her in death. She married Garl E. Campbell on December 22, 1972. He survives in Huntington, IN.
Avinell graduated from Wheelwright High School, Wheelwright, KY, in 1959. She retired from IMCO as a Quality Control Inspector after working there for 34 years. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Huntington. Avinell enjoyed cooking and gardening and being outside. She loved to help and play with the children at her daughter’s daycare.
Along with her husband of 46 years, Garl, she is survived by two sons, Roger Wayne (Nikki Smith) Miller, Huntington, IN, Terry Lee (Carrie) Miller, Warren, IN; a daughter, Marsha Ann (Robert)
Black-Stevens, Huntington, IN; one step-son, Norman Wayne Campbell, Huntington, IN; two step-daughters, Tina Campbell, Huntington, IN, and Sharlyn (Chuck) Lulfs, Swanton, OH; one brother, Junior (Helen) Burgess, Tampa, FL; two sisters, Toy (Elmer) Johnson, Pat Williams, both of Tampa, FL; 8 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 9 step-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Benjamin Burgess.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McElhaney- Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN.
Additional calling will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1555 Flaxmill Road, Huntington, IN, with Rev. Gene Vickery officiating.
A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1555 Flaxmill Road, Huntington, IN 46750.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the First Church of the Nazarene in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.
Burial will be in Mt. Etna Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
