Alfred Kohls, 84, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Parkview Randallia, Fort Wayne, IN.
Mr. Kohls was born on April 29, 1936, in Kempa Skureska, Poland, to Gottlieb and Emilie (Sorget) Kohls. His parents preceded him in death. Alfred married Nilah Joyce Castator on January 26, 1957, and she preceded him in death on March 21, 2019.
Alfred served in the United States Army Guard and Reserve. He was a farmer in Allen County alongside his wife for many years. When he first arrived in Fort Wayne he worked at a Pontiac dealer and also worked as an usher at a movie theatre. He later retired from International Harvester and then retired again from United Tech. He enjoyed watching western movies and loved the lottery scratch off tickets. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, IN.
Alfred is survived by two sons, Larry Kohls, Huntington, IN, Luke (Natalee) Kohls, Roanoke, IN; two daughters, Pauline (Greg) Zimmerman, Hicksville, OH, Penny Notestine, Andrews, IN; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo Kohls, Hartmund Kohls; one sister, Ella Polley; and his son-in-law, Dean Notestine.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, with Rev. Mark Diemer officiating.

A burial will be at a later date at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
