Alfred L. Hunt

Alfred L. Hunt, 91, Muncie, IN (formerly of Huntington), passed away Monday, July 11, 2022 at home surrounded by his family following a brief illness. He was born May 25, 1931, in Huntington, IN to Walter L. Hunt and Ruth B. (Razer) Hunt.

Al worked at Altman-Kramer Motors for over 30 years before leaving to start Hunt’s Auto Repair where he remained until his retirement in 1996. He met the love of his life, Edna Yoder, at the roller rink and they married on August 9, 1952. Al was very involved with his church, Central Christian Church, participating in the men’s group, serving as a deacon, and helping in the kitchen during most meals. He also enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, cooking, and woodworking.

Along with his wife of 69 years, Edna, he is survived by two sons, Robert Hunt, Fort Wayne, and Gary (Mary Ellen Scott) Hunt, Huntington; one daughter, Sheri (Rick) Williams, Muncie; four grandchildren, Justin and Jonah Hunt, Huntington, April (Alex) Morrison and Brett Williams, Muncie; and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Wilkening and Fern Porter; daughter-in-law Tina (Gamble) Hunt and great-grandson Connor E. Hunt.

Friends may call at Central Christian (500 MacGahan Street, Huntington, IN  46750) from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 16 with services following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
