Alexandria Nicole Brown, age 33, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at her residence.
Alex was born on February 17, 1993, in Warsaw, IN, to Janet (Cook) Rayburn. Alex married Eliot Ryan Brown on June 30, 2023, and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2026.
Alex was a 2011 graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School and continued her education at Indiana Tech, receiving her bachelor’s and master’s degree. She worked as a project manager.
Alex was a wonderful mom and incredible person. She was very funny and very enjoyable to be around. Even if she was having a bad day, she always made sure that others around her were comfortable and happy. Alex had one of the sweetest souls.
Alex was the strongest woman. Known and loved for her laughter and light she brought everywhere. Her children, Oliver and Brilee, were the light of her life. She was a very easy person to love. Alex’s perseverance and selflessness was something unique. She will be missed in so many ways, and by so many people.
Words cannot explain how beautiful and amazing of a woman Alex was. She was not only an amazing sister, friend, and hard worker, but was also, most importantly, and most mentioned an incredible mother to her children. As well as her children’s friends, who she treated as her own. She greeted everyone she knew with kindness and thoughtfulness and never failed to brighten a room with her silly jokes and contagious laugh. Anyone who was lucky enough to know Alex, was lucky enough to know and get to experience what genuine love and kindness was even in the darkest of times.
Alex is survived by her two children, Brilee Ritchison and Oliver Van Meter, both of Huntington, IN. She is also survived by her mother, Janet (Bill) Rayburn, Columbia City, IN; one brother, Hunter Bowling, Wakarusa, IN; sister, Whitney Taylor, Warsaw, IN; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Along with her husband, Eliot, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Noah Van Meter; sister, Samantha Griggs; and brother, Jordan Schultz.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m., at McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, with Rev. Timothy Lorenz officiating.
