Albert "Ron" Beckman

Albert “Ron” Beckman, 85, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at 3:28 p.m., at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, IN.

Ron was born on September 10, 1932, in Rising Sun, IN, to Albert and Bertha (Snyder) Beckman.  His parents preceded him in death.   Ron married Charlene Fruechtenicht on June 26, 1954.  She survives and resides in Huntington, IN.

 Ron graduated in 1950 at Rising Sun High School.  Mr. Beckman served in the United States Army.  He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University in 1954 and continued his education for Industrial Engineering at IPFW in 1956. Ron was an Industrial Engineer for 27 years at Memcor in Huntington. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Huntington, and also a member of the Acacia Fraternity at Indiana University.

Along with his wife, Charlene, he is survived by three sons, Michael D. (Mary Lou) Beckman, Granger, IN, Gregory B. (Sheila) Beckman, Kendallville, IN, Mark A. (Kathy) Beckman, Garrett, IN; and one daughter, Julie A. (Aaron) Chastain, Fishers, IN.  He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Andy Beckman, Brian Beckman, Eric Beckman, Kyle Beckman, Rochelle Beckman, Jessica Chastain, Emily Chastain, Alison Chastain; and 3 great grandchildren, Hudson Beckman, Clara Beckman and Violet Beckman.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 3, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN.

Additional calling hours will be held prior to the Funeral on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 530 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN  46750, with Rev. Steven McPeek officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.

Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Marion, Indiana.
