Sondra S. Fisher

Sondra S. Fisher, 82, of Huntington passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019,  at her residence.   

     Mrs. Fisher was born on July 7, 1937, in Huntington, IN, to Clarence and Leota (Shull) Foster.  Her parents preceded her in death.  She married William J. Fisher on March 3, 1990, and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2013.

 Mrs. Fisher was a member of the VFW Auxiliary #2689.   She retired from Memcor and later worked at Hickory Creek.  She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, IN.  Sondra loved to read, crochet and do word searches.

Mrs. Fisher is survived by four sons: Robert M. Jay, Jr., Kempton, IN, Michael Jay, Huntington, IN, Samuel (Sheila) Curry, Fort Wayne, IN, Charles Curry, Huntington, IN; two daughters, Sabrina (Gene) McCoskey, Orange Park, FL, Kristy (Matt) Rawles , Albion, IN; one step-son, Edward Fisher, Huntington, IN;  three step-daughters: Tammy (Jeff) Pederson, Cottage Grove, MN, Amy (Shane) Austin, Jacksonville, FL, Jean (Allen) Herd, Douglasville, GA; one sister, Phyllis Salter, Kuhn Lake, IN; 26 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two daughters, Debra Lynn Jay, Ann Barentine; two brothers, Paul Foster, James Foster; and two sisters, Marita Hubartt and Sharon Brown.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750.

A Funeral Services will follow the calling on Tuesday, at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Stephen Colchin presiding.

Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
