Shawn Leigh Johnson

Shawn Leigh Johnson, 56, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at his residence.  Shawn was born on November 9, 1962, in Huntington, IN, to Robert and Joretta (Sours) Johnson.  His parents preceded him in death.

Shawn was a 1981 graduate of Huntington North High School.  He was a self-employed carpenter.  He had lived and worked in Florida and Hawaii.  He enjoyed attending Daytona races and riding his Harley.   His best friend was his dog, D-O-G.

Shawn is survived by his brother, Paige (Corine) Johnson, Fort Wayne, IN, two nephews, Jon (Cassandra) Johnson, Landon Johnson; three nieces, Misty Smith, Dana Randall, Shantel Johnson; and four great nieces, Taylor Baney, Paige Johnson, Hannah Johnson, and Savanah Johnson.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kim Johnson and Shane Johnson.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.

A Memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Brunk Conley officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Shawn Johnson family to help with expenses in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington,  IN 46750.

A graveside burial will be at a later date at Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
